They did well with the Kenshin/Jin-e fight scene, showing the excellent animated flow, speed, and camera captures. We also get see a well-done flip of Kenshin going into Battousai mode and while the amber eyes added an extra layer in the 90s version, this remake gives a good version of the cold and ruthless hitokiri Kenshin once was.

While Rurouni Kenshin 2023 is a promising reboot everything is not fine and dandy. There are some issues that need addressing. The very first problem is that although the new adaptation is visually alluring the story is still the same. So, tweaks are needed to make it truly phenomenal.

7/10 as a standalone live-action movie trilogy. 9/10 as a fan of Rurouni Kenshin. I really liked the action choreography, but a lot of the swordsmanship details bothered me and because I am a nerd, I felt the need to share. Hiko did not fight like Kenshin at all. Kenshin throughout all 3 films liked to jump, scramble, run, dive, twist and turn. CU6J.
